Oh, Canada!

After receiving my welcome pack, completing which courses I will take and submitting my Canadian visa I am left with the most difficult (and important) decision – where to stay? I have been in contact with two Glasgow University students, who spent their year abroad at Toronto, having asked them where they stayed and where they would advice to stay.

I have applied to both Campus Co-opp (a non for profit organisation which has many houses in Toronto for students. Each house has between 7 and 17 people in it, with several bathrooms, a private bed room and one kitchen) The coop sounds really good, I like the idea of the communal meals and the community feel. Whereas the other accommodation that I applied to – 89 Chestnut – houses over 900 students, with a hotel-esq meal plan, gym, library and music centre, all within the building.

I’m not sure where I’ll end up staying, I think I would prefer the Coop residence, a more laid-back feel to it rather than the impersonal and overwhelming Chestnut residence. Eiher way, I’m excited for the year ahead!
