Acceptance pack…

Well, thats me finally got the acceptance pack through. I haven’t got on-campus housing, so I will need to arrange somewhere to stay by myself, although apparently Boston College’s housing helpers will contact me. Also there are more forms for me, and I should really get my immigration appointment sorted (I think I will go to Belfast I have a friend there).

Also the pack has some great information for the immigration interview and tells me that health insurance is done through the college itself, so I don’t have to find one. It also tells me about the best banks to consider for a bank account if I want to open one which is very useful. I think they suggest Bank of America as the best option.

I am still having some trouble with courses, I thought I was enrolled in the compulsory 5 but I have had another email saying I have 2 more to pick. I think this is just a miscommunication between people in Boston so that should be sorted out soon.

I had applied for BUNAC’s BEST travel funds, however, when I emailed them they told me they had not received my application and so could not consider me… which was disappointing.

I can’t help but imagine where I will be living (perhaps with a couple of international students or some native Bostonians?). I have been thinking about the new experiences and what clubs and activities I want to take part in. I also applied to get a mentor, which will be really nice, to have someone who has been on exchange and also knows Boston! I am looking forward to a wee trip to Belfast especially with a guide to show me round. And there is still the BUTEX scholarship to apply for.

Anyway, I will update once I have tackled the forms and made an appointment for immigration. Also I will find out about other places to stay and how the courseload is going.

Lauren
